Noosa Boardwalk

A remarkable 400-metre boardwalk on the Sunshine Coast’s iconic Noosa Heads has reopened following a major refurbishment. The upgrade spans from Little Cove to the entrance of Noosa National Park, perfectly complementing the region’s status as both a World Surfing Reserve and a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Designed by architect Grant Calder of Flexure in collaboration with Noosa Shire Council, the project prioritised minimal environmental impact during construction and long-term use. The boardwalk’s gentle curves accommodate the natural terrain, preserving nearly 99% of the existing coastal rainforest.

Accoya was selected because it delivers exceptional dimensional stability. It resists rot, warping, shrinking, and swelling, while offering lightweight durability and barefoot-friendly thermal properties that prevent splintering even under harsh coastal sun. It also boasts impressive sustainability credentials, its FSC® certified, Cradle to Cradle Gold, and non toxic. It also comes with an industry-leading 50-year above-ground warranty.

More than seven years after its completion, the Noosa Boardwalk continues to embody the vision of its creators - delivering enduring beauty, functionality, and environmental harmony under Queensland’s 300 days of sunshine each year.
